Living Archive

The challenge of bringing the Ciência Viva archive to life through illustration turned out to be a fascinating creative adventure. Infused with the inspiration from photographs in the archive, I developed two illustrated narratives, each reflecting the mysteries and wonders of biology and astronomy.

Thus presenting these stories in a double-sided harmonica book format, inviting readers to dive into dynamic and multifaceted readings, exploring the sciences in new ways.

This project aims not only to celebrate science through visual art but also to ignite the spark of curiosity and wonder in young minds, opening doors to future discoveries.

The first story, intertwined with the theme of Biology, unfolds through the awed eyes of a child exploring the amphibian kingdom. This visual narrative not only celebrates children’s curiosity but also transports us to a vibrant world where nature unfolds its magnificent tapestry of life.

The second story, which ventures into the field of Astronomy, is born from the experience lived during the Astrofesta. Through the eyes of another child, readers embark on a space odyssey, an imaginative journey through the cosmos that is full of celestial wonders and unfathomable cosmic enigmas.
